Wood Veneer Matching

Book matching for optimum veneer wall patterns

Marlite’s standard practice is to provide book matching between adjacent veneer leaves on all premium wood veneer panels; visual effect - veneer joints match, creating a symmetrical pattern. But we will also meet any desired specification including balance, sequence-matching, and blueprint-matching.

Book-matching versus random-matching of wall panels

With book-matching, every other piece of veneer is turned over so adjacent pieces (leaves) are "opened" like the pages of a book. Panels may contain an even or odd number of leaves, and distribution may change from panel to panel.

With random-matching, veneer leaves are placed next to each other in a random order and orientation producing a “board-by-board” effect resulting in considerable pattern and contrast variation not desirable for upscale wall designs.
